Weekend Programme

Join the Mapping Revolution!

Click here for the schedule for the Weekend.

Whether you’re one of the 125,000 members of the fast-growing OpenStreetMap community, or you want to see for yourself how they collaborate to create the free and open wiki-style world map – the State Of The Map weekend is a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with many of the community leaders.

In a weekend packed with talks and workshops, you’ll be brought up to speed with the latest developments in and around the worldwide OpenStreetMap community. Delegates from all over the world – from Germany to Georgia, from Pakistan to the Palestinian West Bank – will join you to talk about the state of the map in their areas and discuss new ways of moving OpenStreetMap forward.

Highlights include fifteen community members from developing countries speaking about their local communities, made possible by a generous OSI grant, and a panel discussing open geodata licensing featuring Jordan Hatcher, the creator of the ODbL.

You can view the full schedules for the State of the Map here.

Who should attend the Weekend Programme?
First and foremost, the weekend programme is aimed at the OpenStreetMap community, so whether you’re mapping, hacking, organizing, or contributing in any other way to making OpenStreetMap the great community that it is, this weekend is for you. Also, if you have been observing OpenStreetMap from a distance, may be used OSM data in a project or two, and want to work closer with the community to leverage your ideas, contribute data or just want to be immersed in the OSM community sensation, this weekend is a unique opportunity you might not want to pass up.
